1930's period house, London 2004

This house was typical of its period with dark rosewood windows and timber panelling decor throughout. our brief was to create a contemporary but classical interior to work in harmony with the house's style.

The kitchen /dining area was transformed into a modern, open plan kitchen dining space with built in storage and utility room. The warm rosewood kitchen units with the custom acrylic high gloss black moulded work surface worked well with the neutral backdrop of the limestone tiled floor and warm earth tone walls to create a modern classical space.

The introduction of contemporary and classical feature and directional lighting to all the interior spaces in the home created a sense of drama and warmth against the back drop of warm neutrals and sensual metallics. The delicate use of rosewood veneers and earth tone surfaces with hints of metallic lustre would be integral to the design solution of the other rooms throughout the house.
