| An exhibition on how New York city
transformed sex in America. Our brief was to design
an exhibition that focused on New York’s perceived
role as a leader of sexual diversity.
Your journey as a visitor starts when you are
transported into an interpretive setting of a
brothel's bedroom via a Victorian patterned chain
curtain where a prostitute was murdered in the
early New York year's, from there journey continues
down vista's of ceiling hung white walls which
stop two thirds down to reveal visitor’s
lower forms, as they cluster together to peer
through peep holes in the walls, which spill text,
sounds and fragments of film. Other luminescent
colourful apertures reveal an assortment of textures,
furs, plastics, latex and feathers etc… |
