Natural history museum Darwin centre, London 2002 / joint venture

Based at the Darwin centre our brief was to design a new visitor exhibition of the museum's extensive spirit collection. For the first time in history the museum will exhibit for visitors to view their vast research facility, comprising of millions of zoological specimens, all stored in alcohol. A interactive forum facility within the exhibition allows both staff and public to live link to other research establishments worldwide.

Darwin's story of evolution and his collection, comes to life in the exhibition in the form of a 3 dimensional line, this is where the visitor starts their journey through the exhibition and is the main point of reference throughout exhibition. The 3-d line house's scientist's video stories, graphic imagery and text. The real life specimen's can be found in back lit showcase's, reference's to the 3-d line of evolution is used throughout the exhibition to reinforce Darwin’s work and theory, oversized specimen's are used on panels and privacy screens to immerse the visitor into Darwin’s world.
